Kaylee was pointed and earned a Best Puppy at the Golden Triangle Specialty July 2000. Personal Matters pulled us out of conformation. When things got back on track, we pursued Agility to Open Level, and our biggest goal to compete and earn our Companion Dog title, which we happily did in April of 2007. She earned a first place at the Irish Setter Club of America Nationals in the Rally class of 33. She had a lot of spunk and energy and was always ready to work. As Kaylee retired from competing, she was always on hand to help with the youngsters. The last of my original crew, I counted on her to guide them and help them to be as great as she was. In December of 2012 at age 13, I found some mammary lumps and had them removed immediately. She recovered quickly and led a happy, fun-filled life until the tumors reappeared, and sadly it was time to say goodbye. She was the cute little girl that demonstrated for the trick classes and up until her last day; did her spin and circles, not for treats this time, but to tell me it was time. Always laying upside down in the rocker, which is now empty, always at the foot of my bed, and getting tripped on in the middle of the night. It’s hard to walk by. Losing my little Kaylee ends the beginning of my journey of my Berries that started back in 1999, and what a wonderful journey it was. She taught me It is never to late to achieve your Dreams. Thank you so much for all you taught me. May the shamrocks fall softly and may there be many rockers for you to lay upside on.
